Today we started to organize some of our duo-tangs for various subject areas and changed the seating plan around the room. The grade four's are now all sitting together and same with the grade five's. Even though we are separated by grade, we are still a "combined class" that has a great sense of community. I am very surprised and thrilled at how well the students in our class are working together. It truly is a wonderful learning environment.
Tomorrow we have early dismissal at 12:00 pm!
Have a good evening.

Joshua was talking about the new seating arrangement and seemed very excited!
ReplyDeleteI am also anticipating a wonderful learning experience for him this year :)
I know that this isn't really related to your post but I couldn't find another place to send it to you. In class the other day the kids had a spelling assessment. As a result I started poking around online for some resources. I stumbled upon this one (http://www.spellingcity.com). My son really enjoyed it and we're hoping to include it in his daily after school activities.
ReplyDeleteSpelling City is a great website! Another website that is great for curriculum activities is BlackGold Regional Schools. Once you are on the website there is a column on the left hand side. Scroll down to Resources then click on Black Gold ICT. From there you can select the Division.
ReplyDeleteFor example, Division II Science (Weather Watch).
The site lists the various units and has many activities that children can practice on.
Thank you both for the information. I will be checking both out :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear about other resources...especially those seen through the eyes of a parent!
